FOREVER YOUNG SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE (2021)

We are hoping to again start another softball season. This time it is starting to look a little better (a lot better?). Man, what a helluva year. Besides, missing out on softball, just getting around town was almost as hard as landing Perservance on Mars.  I think most of us got screwed on a year of retirement fun, travel, and playing with our grandchildren. I think I know one guy who lived it up, and good for him. Unless Facebook is the "Big Lie", John Tvarok, seemed to do pretty well for himself. Way to go John!

Anyhow, I sure miss the game, and I miss seeing all the guys. I'm thinking you guys probably feel the same.

So stay safe, get in shape, get couple a shots, drink couple a shots, and see you soon.

FOREVER YOUNG SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE (2020)

We are hoping to start another softball season, but we currently find ourselves in an unusual position. Many of us have experienced plenty of good and bad times in our lives, but, I believe, there is not one person in our league who has ever witnessed what has occured over the last couple weeks of March 2020. Something called the CoronaVirus, has not only caused sickness, death, chaos, and cancellation throughout our world, but has screwed up our plans to begin playing what we love to do. Doesn't this event remind you a little of 9/11?  I think it does. We will never forget either one.

We are sad to see that due to the awful pandemic, the 2020 season has been cancelled. We will all be ready to go in 2021.

forever young senior softball league (2019)

The Forever Young Senior Softball League (FYSSL) of Bucks County, began in April of 2019 through the collective efforts of several of the men that are listed below. It is an over 70 men's league with a smattering of over 65's on each of the original three teams. A fourth team , First Trust Bank, also includes some over 65's .

The FYSSL is affiliated with USA softball. Formerly the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball, USA Softball (USAS) has many important responsibilities as the National Governing Body of softball in the United States, including regulating competition to insure fairness and equal opportunity to the millions of players who play the sport.

The FYSSL commissioners are Billy Schwartz, Jerry Barsky, Jack Zupan, Ron Miller and Dave Cohen.  Managers are Bill Schwartz, Jerry Barsky and Jack Zupan. For the time being, these 3 men take turns managing First Trust Bank. The fine grounds crew include Craig Wright, Ron Miller , and Bill Porter. These men get the field ready before each and every game and deserve a tip of the cap.

Currently the teams are Team Toyota, Sloane Toyota, State Farm , and we are hopeful of possibly adding a fourth team later.  That fourth team is First Trust Bank and it was added right at the end of the first half.

Games are played on Monday and Friday mornings at 9:30am and 11:00am at Field #3 in Middletown Community Park which is  located at 2600 Langhorne-Yardley Road, Langhorne, Pa. 19047.

The 2019 season starts in May. The first half will continue through the end of June. The league will take the month of July off and we will pick back up with the second half in August

The second half of games commenced on Friday August 2nd with the addition of a new team sponsored by First Trust Bank. The starting time for games was changed with the first game beginning at 9:00 AM and the second game starting at 10:30 AM. The season ends October 11th.
